Archie Brooks Holton, age 73, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. He was a warrior, serving in the Army during Vietnam and then for another couple of decades until his 1st retirement.

He was a member of the Special Forces.

After he retired from the military, he moved into the next chapter of his life, working in law enforcement.

Years later, he moved from law enforcement to construction, then finally retirement moving from the coast of the Florida panhandle to the hills of southern Appalachia.

A native of Louisiana and was currently residing in Hayesville, North Carolina.

Archie, enjoyed cooking, fishing, growing flowers, and attending swap meets. He was a gun enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Rachael Savage Holton of Hayesville, North Carolina; son, Archie Lee Holton of Buena Park, California; daughter, Brooksayne Holton (Mark) Wyatt of Leesburg; stepchildren, Sam Gill of Texas, and Simon Gill, and Emily Gill, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Paine of Texas; and brother Reedy Holton, of Florida.
